Build communities, not scenes.”  These words are urged to fans by now-defunct Portland hardcore band Thirty3, a band that wrote song upon song about staying true to the hardcore community, friends, and the music that their community was based upon.

Hardcore bands often preach about equality among different social classes and issues but neglect the fact that woman are a minority in the scene. Concerns like the mistreatment of animals are often addressed while women’s equality is ignored possibly for fear of sounding effeminate.

Five years ago, Sworn Vengeance played their last show and many kids were bummed. But on Friday October 26th, 2007, Sworn Vengeance re-united for one show, and one show only. Reno, NV is notorious for it’s straight edge scene and famous hardcore bands and Sworn Vengeance has always felt at home in Reno. Who knew that Sworn Vengeance wanted to play another show in the biggest little city in the world.

It isn't a secret that the Bay Area produces amazing bands and has had one of the greatest hardcore scenes of our time. Some of the many bands from the Bay include All Bets Off, These Days, Animosity and more. Among the many great bands are bands who are just getting their feet off the ground, and that's where Don't Trip comes in.
